Poll finds broad support for Edward Snowden among millennials



An overwhelming majority of millennials across North America, Europe and Australia have a positive opinion of Edward Snowden, the former NSA contractor who leaked surveillance secrets and now lives under temporary asylum in Russia, according to a new poll commissioned by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

The poll, which surveyed adults 18 and older in 10 countries with a “specific focus” on those between the ages of 18 to 34, “explored familiarity with Edward Snowden as well as attitudes about him and the impact of his actions.” The ACLU serves as legal council to Snowden; as a nonprofit organization with “civil liberties” in its name, it clearly has skin in the game Read more…
